Full Moon Drum
A drum made in the evening of January Full Moon 2025. A drum which language talks about strength, direction, integrity and power. The process of making it was easy and smooth, efficient. I was feeling so grounded and the African elephant appeared with that energy of removing obstacles and determination to walk your path, no matter the challenges that appear.
Hide: African spotted goat, Senegal. This hide comes from my drumming teacher. They are all musicians and dancers who carry the music tradition of their land, West Africa. A family that live in scarcity and with our support, we support the communities to continue living and keeping their culture alive.
Frame: Willow
Beater: Lime tree, brown soft skin and sheep wool filling
Size: 18”
